This book is a commentary on Colossians, focusing on the role of spiritual wisdom and understanding as converts to the gospel transform into disciples. How do people who have believed the gospel of Jesus Christ become people whose lives manifest the following character?…live a life worthy of the Lord, please Him in every way - bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that they have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father? (Colossians 1:10-12)?Maybe the question is more personal: if you are someone who has believed the gospel, how can you become someone who lives that life?I have titled this book The Spiritual Wisdom and Understanding of Colossians, because spiritual wisdom and understanding are keys to the transformation from being a convert to becoming a disciple. Spiritual wisdom and understanding are not the only keys, but they are critical keys as revealed in Colossians 1:9-10.Study questions at the end of each chapter will facilitate review and application of the material discussed.
