This book is a thought provoking, light-hearted look at the journey I have been on from my early years living and growing up in South Africa, to moving abroad into the big wide world. How the Lord Jesus Christ has been central in my life; from keeping me safe in South Africa’s political upheaval to paving the way abroad and beyond.In July 2013 my world turned upside down when I was rushed into A&E and learnt I had advanced Stage 4 ovarian and colon cancer, followed by two subsequent cancers.My intention was to write this book as an encouragement and support to other cancer sufferers who are battling against this awful curse. After putting my body through two major operations, eight chemo cycles and 30 days of radiotherapy, but by the grace of God I am still standing, victorious.There are amusing anecdotes of my hospital stays, along with useful pointers for those just recently diagnosed with cancer. What people can expect to feel when they go through various treatments and how to over-come feeling depressed and lonely.I pray that those reading this book may be filled with the Lord’s peace and joy that surpasses all understanding. That whatever storms we face in life, that He is our ballast in our ship, our strong anchor and He is our lighthouse, and that there is nothing to fear.
