The Life of Eli Summerfield, centers on an old Southern redneck farmer. As a former U.S. Marine, he is heartless, uneducated, and rough as a corncob. After his daughter attempts to steal his estate, he leaves it all, living exciting times on the highway as a wayfaring stranger. He is angry with God and rejects any possible relationship. For that reason, one calamity after another befalls him. He strikes a deal with Satan who claims that paradise is on earth, and promises him many beautiful women. You may sever an intestine at his calamities. His life is hilarious before his destiny is revealed, after which life becomes very serious. This is one of ten books that the author has written.
