About the Book This book is aiming to help children learn the first group of sounds- s, a, t, p, i, and n - by engaging them in educational and entertaining stories of Mr Spotty Socks; King Adam and an Army of Ants; Turquoise Tortoise; Picnic on Pluto; Miss Iggli-Wiggli, Our School's Head Teacher, and Nurses' Day in Nobishka Land. Each story focuses on one sound and provides many words as examples for it. The targeted sounds have been clearly highlighted using different colours to attract the child's attention. This could increase the child's later recall of that sound as well as developing the child's understanding that one letter may sound differently in different words. An example of this is when pronouncing the letter 'S' in the word 'snake' sounds differently than 'S' in the word 'his'.
