Pudgy the Puppy Gets Moving is a comical story of a stray puppy who shows up on the McKain property. A trip to the vet leads to a mission to: “Get Pudgy moving, run and play. Get him some exercise every day.” The McKain family calls on their grandfather, a.k.a. Super G, for his expertise in this area. He accepts the mission. Young Rya McKain and her friends exercise right along with the puppy. There are some surprising results as news of the puppy’s progress gets out! Tucked into the story are timely messages about the importance of exercise for pups and kids alike. Several practical ideas for getting exercise are explored. The entire story is a message to children on being active and keeping fit. The book is illustrated by award-winning illustrator and fine artist, Denny Bond. His full color paintings abound with charm and warmth. Children enjoy the detail and humor he brings to every page. This is a beautifully illustrated book, a work of art.
