Through the prism of emotion and within the timeframe of the everyday and also the eternal, I use my poetry to express and navigate the mind, heart, and our world. Some artists use music to convey their philosophy; others paint or sculpt. Words are my paintbrush: my history, people and global events are my subjects and a blank piece of paper serves as my canvas. My writings are most often from my own perspective, though not always; and are observations and reflections of what life presents to us all at one time or another. I delve into and personalize love, heartache, loss, hope, faith, and pain, God, PTSD, Bi-Polar Illness and Alzheimer’s disease, along with the disappearing act of the Middle Class. Many have shared with me that my poems are easily related to and easy to identify with. They are intentionally thought provoking. I have been paid the greatest compliment numerous times, when a reader said I was able to articulate what they thought and felt, but could never express themselves. If you like out-of-the-ordinary and poignant, then my writing is for you.
