Viscount Amery Douglas Allen needs a fresh start. Having arrived at his title by virtue of a family tragedy, he knows nothing about land husbandry. Thankfully, he soon makes the acquaintance of Gwen Hollister, a land steward who has been hiding out with her young daughter for years. As she gives Douglas land lessons, her heart swells as he shows her how a true gentleman treats a lady. As Douglas sweeps into Gwen’s life, she’s leery but enthralled.
