Just Really Joseph is a charming children’s book about adoption, identity, and family. This warm and welcoming story follows a day in the life of two young brothers who have different skin colors. Just Really Joseph provides affirming, age-appropriate ways to talk about race and transracial adoption.

As an adoptive mom, Kayla Craig scoured the internet for a children’s book about adoption that would help foster conversation about her adopted son’s identity, skin color, and his birth mother. When her search came up short, she began brainstorming a relatable, heartfelt children’s book that compassionately connects with children.

Inspired by Joseph (who’s six and joined her family via international adoption) and Asher (who’s three and joined her family the old-fashioned way!), Kayla wrote Just Really Joseph – a story about adoption, and what just really makes a family. Just Really Joseph is a book not only for adoptive families, but for biological families, too.

With charming illustrations and a relatable tale, Just Really Joseph helps preschool and elementary-aged children understand that families don’t have to match.

All sales of Just Really Joseph will flow directly to Katelyn’s Fund Orphan Ministry, a 501©3 that advocates for vulnerable children in Haiti, as well as provide international and domestic adoption grants to families across the U.S.

I hope that a few minutes of reading Just Really Joseph will, as my son Joseph says, make your heart just really happy. To all the little ones, all the parents who love them, and a God who makes all things new. - Kayla Craig, author of Just Really Joseph
