B. J. Colvin enjoys writing short stories and poems. She is also an artist with training in oil painting, watercolors, and acrylics. An avid seamstress, B. J. also makes quilts and has received awards for her sewing and painting skills.

B. J. enjoys spending time with her two children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling, especially to national parks, where she utilizes her photography skills.
