Griffin Strong introduces us to a young and precocious eight-year-old boy in the year 1938. Kevin’s grandfather, the owner of an opera company, has taught him the art of conducting an orchestra and chorus in George Gershwin’s Summer Time. A month before opening night, Kevin develops appendicitis and is taken to the hospital for an emergency operation. The opening night is postponed - a disappointment for Kevin.
Will Kevin recover and join Grandfather George in a plan for the opening night concert?
