Juanda J. Sneed Stewart’s poems are inspired by her life. Much of The Rhymes of My Life was written about specific people, experiences, or events. Stewart began writing in 1970 after the death of a cherished aunt. Stewart continues to share her observations, joys, and sorrows in her poems.
About the Author
Juanda J. Sneed Stewart is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She has been a resident of San Francisco, California, nearly all her life, having relocated there with her family when she was a small child.
In her youth, she never aspired to be a writer. But her grandmother often recited poetry from memory and Stewart inherited this love of rhyme. In later years, home always contained a volume or two of poetic verse. Now Stewart picks up her pen whenever a memorable person or event inspires her.
Educated at San Francisco State University, Stewart received both a BA and an MA degree. Now retired, she was an administrator at the US Postal Service.
Stewart is a sports fan, enthusiastically rooting for her home team Forty-Niners, Giants, and Golden State Warriors. She is also a world traveler and a very involved member of her church. Her priorities in order are God, family, and everything else.
