The most precious message ever given to mortals is the message that Jesus became our substitute, taking the penalty for our sins, that we might take His perfect righteousness and stand faultless in the judgment, appearing before the Father as if we had never sinned. This is the message of righteousness by faith. God came as a man and poured out his soul unto death; he spilled his blood to pay your debt; he risked the entire universe to save you. There is no higher price that could be paid to purchase your salvation….There is nothing more for you to pay. You do not have to humiliate yourself or cause yourself pain to lessen your guilt. There is nothing you can do to gain his forgiveness but to accept it.

Come near…to Christ the Mighty Healer….This wonderful manner of His love was evidenced at His crucifixion, and the light of His love is reflected in bright beams from the cross of Calvary. Now it remains for us to accept that love, to appropriate the promises of God to ourselves. Just repose in Jesus. Rest in Him…He loves you. The Lord’s arms are beneath you….[W]ounded and bruised, just repose trust in God. A compassionate hand is stretched out to bind up your wounds.
