The settle ment grew and ancient Dover included what is now Newington, Greenland, Durham, (called Oyster River), Lee, Madbury Somersworth, Salmon Falls, Rollinsford, and Kittery which extended through Berwick, North Berwick, South Berwick, and Eliot, to Portsmouth Harbor.
