This is the third book in the continuing drama of the Scottichinis, an Italian-American family. It describes their trials and tribulations. Bernie Scottichini has become the new Papa, following the death of his father. He now has to deal with the many issues that confront a growing and changing extended family, his teenage daughters with their dreams, his young son Chris with his love of baseball, his sister Dina who wants to marry a black man which causes division in the family and his sister, Maria, the nun, who tragically losses a dear friend and is admitted to a mental hospital.
