The story is meant to be read to children or to be read by children who are just learning to read. There is a moral to the story’s, this one teaching the children the importance of helping others. Maria is introduced at the beginning of the story, she has one leg and is special for the feats she can perform. Other characters in the story have fun names and are unique in their personalities and include a chicken wearing glasses, and a cat with no tail. Some say they have a handicap but they are happy and full of fun and always able to do whatever anyone can do. Maria comes to the rescue saving Salvador The Cat With No Tail from a dilemma he has encountered. Carlos The Chicken helps too and is able to put Salvador’s maid at ease. Maria saves the day. Easily loved by all children who hear the story it ends with the children wanting more.
