Heaps of Faith begins with three-year-old Mary Ann Buscaino huddled in a corner, frightened, as her Sicilian immigrant parents argued about her health issues. For this young Sicilian girl, it marked the onset of many bouts with life-threatening illness, family dysfunction, abuse, instability, tragedy and poverty. The fourth child of five; only daughter of Antonina and James Buscaino, Mary Ann moved 11 out of 12 years, constantly changing schools. At the age of 15, Mary Ann surrendered her life to the Lord after being healed of Bright’s Disease, knowing her life would always be in God’s hands. God refined her through life’s adversity. She matured into a fearless woman of strength. Being tested again in 1982 she faced brain surgery, becoming blind in one eye. He was strengthening me and blessing me through my trials. At age of 47 she embarked on her first project, opening a non-profit medical clinic in Nigeria, Africa. Relocating to Guatemala City, she met the street girls, ages 9 and 10 prostituting themselves in supporting their families. It was a heart-wrenching experience compelling Mary Ann to open a school for these needy girls. The pain in their eyes was the same pain she had experienced, leading her to become a compassionate champion for children. Drawing on God’s wisdom and experiences, Mary Ann’s next book will reveal spiritual insights inspired by the name of her late husband, Rusty Heaps, living a life showing Heaps of Faith. Her next book shares Heaps of Love, Heaps of Hope, Heaps of Charity, Heaps of Danger and Heaps of Humility.
