Rhythm the Rat is so happy that he is boastful, bragging to Blues the Bee how many shoes he has until Blues gives him a bit of his own medicine. While Rhythm brags about his shoes, not once does he notice that Blues is not wearing any. Even though he is barefoot, Blues works on convincing Rhythm that he has just as many shoes as Rhythm has, if not more. The two of them go back and forth trying to outdo one another until finally Rhythm has enough. A deal is made and the challenge is accepted; Rhythm invites Blues to count his shoes.
