The lost city of Huacha had been a legend for centuries. It was believed that the Incas had concealed a fantastic treasure there before their empire fell to Francisco Pizarro’s conquistadores in the 16th century. So when Wilbur Tennington came upon a memoir written by one of Pizarro’s men, revealing at last the exact location of Huacha, visions of gold filled his eyes.
