Nurse Carol’s Truce
Mary Curtis Bowers
Carol Trent, R.N., willingly gave up her vacation and drove to Oregon to look after her brother, Mark, when he broke both legs. But she was less willing to be polite to Steve Reed, the arrogant, hot-tempered owner of the logging camp where Mark worked. Steve had nothing but unkind things to say to Carol the day they met. Still, for Mark’s sake, she finally tried to make a truce with the logging-camp owner. For he was a good boss and a good friend to her brother. Besides, Steve Reed was a very attractive man when he wasn’t acting like a barbarian. And Carol could have loved him if his dark moods–and some dark secrets from his past–didn’t always result in another ugly battle!
