Nothing in the town of Calico has been the same since the Grays’ housekeeper, Emma Morrison, started writing. After she reads the first installment of her mystery to her writing class, everybody in town wants to know what happens next. So does Emma, who is struggling with writer’s block. As Emma attempts to finish her story, another writer sends Emma clues, copying the very format of Emma’s story. Has Emma inadvertently discovered a deep, dark secret in Calico’s history? Is there really a body buried beneath the roses? Is someone in Calico a murderer?
