Willy Ashton, Calico’s newly elected mayor, is being pursued by Debrah Beyer, whom he once had a crush on in high school. She is a woman who left town after the accidental drowning of her twin sister and has now returned to open a gift shop. Everyone knows that Debrah’s motives are not romantic except poor Willy. When Julia Mock, a mysterious poor widow never seen without her sunglasses, comes to town, Jennifer Gray’s heart goes out to her. Jennifer’s heart goes out to her even more when Julia dies in a freak car accident. It soon becomes apparent to Jennifer and the townspeople that it may not have been an accident.
