Vengeance Cuts Loose

Ladies’ man and top stylist Garth Barkley is stabbed to death with his own shears in front of his own customers. But no one saw a thing. Among the customers is Wally Morris, a reluctant sleuth who has cracked two cases in the past, and her mother-in-law, Tillie. The suspects are many: Garth was universally loathed. In his wake, he left too many broken hearts, a wide collection of jilted former fiances, and three angry ex-wives. While Tillie and her elderly friends at the retirement center attempt to crack the case, Wally desperately juggles her job as a nursery school teacher, planner for her daughter’s wedding, and sleuth, helping her future son-in-law, assistant prosecutor Elliot Levine on the murder case. But clues are scarce and eyewitness testimony is confused. In addition to solving the murder, in between calls to the caterer, the florist, and photographer, Wally must uncover the connection behind a series of strange happenings in Tilly’s building. With so much on her plate, Wally keeps stumbling onto clues that lead her closer and closer to Garth’s killer…and danger.
