First published in 1878, this is the second volume of a work on the culture and inhabitants of Turkey, by Fanny Janet Blunt. It includes chapters on ‘Food’, Dress’, ‘Turkish Weddings’, ‘Religious Tolerance and Missionary Work’, and much more, giving the reader an excellent insight into the lives of the residents of the area. This is a fantastic work for anyone interested in the history of the region and Turkish society during the nineteenth century.
