Sali Bytyci ka lindur ne fshatin Deje te Drinise, me 1962. Shkollimin fillor dhe te mesem i kreu ne Ratkoc dhe Rahovec, ndersa studimet ne Degen e Letersise shqipe te Fakultetit te Filologjise ne Universitetin e Prishtines. Ne vitin 1983 eshte denuar nga regjimi komunist jugosllav per vepren penale - propagande armiqesore, sepse i eshte gjetur nje poeme "armiqesore" (ne doreshkrim), ndersa nga 12 maji 1998 e deri ne fund te tetorit 2000 ka qendruar ne burgjet: Prizren, Lipjan, Dubrave e Nish, si rob lufte. Punon ne Degen e Letersise ne Institutin e Albanologjise ne Prishtine. Me shkrime ka filluar te merret qysh ne kohen kur ishte student, ndersa ka marre pjese ne sesione shkencore qe jane organizuar brenda dhe jashte vendit. Eshte anetar i Lidhjes se Shkrimtareve te Kosoves dhe i Shoqates se te Burgosurve Politike te Kosoves.
