Figura centrala care domina, este, evident, cea a lui Daniel, personaj complex, posedat de un ego puternic, sentimentele sale nelamurite, gandurile antagonice si starile de totala interiorizare, introducandu-ne in lumea incurcata a genului confuz. In jurul sau evolueaza personaje aparent comune, fara o prea mare semnificatie, la o prima vedere, care, insa, contribuie decisiv si gradual, in cele din urma, in ceasul concluziilor finale, la conduita si drumul ales de personaj.
