Writer and musician Chris Wade looks at the first four albums of the legendary and iconic Kate Bush; The Kick Inside (1978), Lionheart (1978), Never For Ever (1980), and The Dreaming (1982). On these records, Bush established her own unique style and evolved into an independent maverick artist. The book contains four essays, each focusing on a separate album, charting Bush's artistic development. It also includes brand new interviews with musicians and engineers who took part in the recordings, Hugh Padgham, Dave Lawson and Kevin Burke. Chris Wade runs the acclaimed music project Dodson and Fogg, which has featured such guest stars as Toyah and Scarlet Rivera. His non fiction work includes The Films of James Woods and A Portrait of Catherine Deneuve, while his comedy audiobooks have been narrated by such people as Rik Mayall and Nigel Planer. He also makes documentaries on film history and surreal art films.
