Before she died, Iris Legg wrote about her family and in particular about her life in Pembrokeshire as an evacuee during and after WWII. However, she was unable to complete the task which she had set herself and her husband, Roger, provides an outline of her life from the time she returned to London, together with a pen portrait of a very gifted person. The letters published in this volume are mostly from and about our family, friends and colleagues, letters which reflect our careers, interests and concerns, holidays, happy times and sad times, misfortunes as well as successes. These letters generated many of Roger’s memories and some of these are recorded as footnotes. The book concludes with tributes to Roger’s parents who played such a central role in their family’s life and fortunes.
