Early Childhood Development in Middle East and North Africa
The World Bank
The book focuses on scaling and integrating early childhood development services for all children in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. After providing an empirical snapshot of service delivery and children's wellbeing and development in the region (along with strategic comparisons among countries within the region and between the region and other regions), the report describes sector-specific challenges to achieving scale, integration, and universal coverage of services for children, drawing on existing evidence from the region as well as new data analysis. The report addresses regionally relevant issues that cut across all sectors and contexts, such as gender; the role of the private sector; financing; the use of data for decision-making; and service coverage for refugees, displaced populations, conflict-affected settings, and migrants.
