El encuentro de ambos ocurre entre charlas, historias, consejos y reflexiones, que, luego de un periodo de replicas, titubeo y dudas, produce en el joven una expansion espiritual y concibe (sin apercibirse de ello) un ‘algo divino’ que interacciona en el mundo con los hombres. Virgilio sale optimista de Opal, dispuesto a flechar la ‘azul felicidad’ en Havilath, la tierra del oro.
