Badness

In the cops we call it ‘Badness’, the evil that we cannot understand.

And yet I have to face it. Over 34 years in the police, I grew used to sitting on one side of the interview room table, facing murderers, child abductors and rapists. Now I have been forced to see what it looks like from the other side, forced out of the police and declared a convicted criminal. Does this mean that I’ve done evil? I’m not convinced, but I need to be certain.
