The first edition recorded personal experiences and events in a spiritual movement that was new to Canada but spread across the country. It involved people in all the mainline denominations, both many who had little Bible knowledge and many who knew the Scriptures well. What was news then is history now. So you may consider this third edition as a series of excerpts from the spiritual diaries of Canadians who lived before your time. But their personal stories still have power to stimulate a thirst for God.

In 1979 Malcolm Muggeridge wrote: No one can doubt the present reality of the Christian renewal movement known as charismatic in many parts of the world and in numerous denominations, especially Roman Catholicism. Al Reimers’ account of how the movement got started in Canada is thus valuable, both as documentation and as testimony offered by himself and others. I recommend it to all who are concerned about Christian faith and worship today.

Al Reimers was ordained an Anglican priest in 1952 and served in parish ministry for fourteen years before being released to serve as a worker-priest. Since then his career has included counselling, teaching and computer programming, as well as six years in Christian television (100 Huntley Street) and two years with the Canadian Bible Society.
