Dear friends that I don’t yet know,
This story still touches me! I am amazed every time I read it-and I wrote it! It was total inspiration. At the time I wrote The Star of Mrs. Nicks, I was the mother of three preschool children and doing laundry-as usual! It was getting close to Christmas, and I began to daydream. I could see this old stone house, which I had often driven by. It was overgrown with bushes and vines and I often wondered who may have lived there.
Suddenly I felt the urge to write. The snowflakes fell a fluffy veil… and it began! It was all I could do to tear myself from my pencil to change loads of laundry!
A few hours later the story poem was complete. I wrote this poem over twenty years ago. Two years ago, I read it to an elementary class, and they loved it! They wanted copies and even wanted my autograph. I told them I would get copies or have it published. The story has a mystery
about it that captures your heart and interest until the story is told. You can’t put it down until it is done-because you don’t want to!
