Montreal teen Pearl is passionate about and dedicated to both fashion and the environment.

Pearl and her friends are on the clock putting outfits together for a school fashion show. But she must overcome her friend Keri's devotion to the ease of fast fashion purchases, which has damaging effects on the environment. She enlists the help of friends and her tailor grandfather, as well as a local upcycling fashion company, to create outfits out of old clothing. But Pearl wants to do more and attempts to bring the show and the issue of fast fashion to the attention of a local politician--with mixed results. Along the way, she gets an education in the determination necessary to protest effectively, but she also gains the confidence to take her goals forward in her career as an advocate of environmentally responsible fashion.
