After being dumped by his supposed boyfriend Mason--who now won't even admit they were dating--Beck can't face hanging with their friend group at the GSA club.

Even his friends don't seem to know who to believe any more, which is hurtful. He finds solace in volunteering at the local pet rescue instead, where canine companions help to heal his broken heart. A special husky named Coffee captures his heart as he and the dog learn to trust one another. When Beck finds Mason's new boyfriend, Oliver, is working at the very same place, it makes for some awkward and chilly encounters. But Beck discovers that appearances can be deceiving, and with the help of his new friends, he learns to trust and love again.
