"Coffee stirred with milk" is a lively collection of poems exploring interracial relationships, family, motherhood, domestic abuse, death, and dating. The collection is topped and tailed by significant relationships and ends on what I hope to be a long-lasting love. After escaping an abusive relationship and finding myself alone in London with a young child, I really struggled to fit in or find a sense of belonging. Writing helped me to survive. Now that I have found my feet, I would like to share my sense of humour, bring comfort to others who may also be struggling, and provide a fresh perspective on life in the modern world through my poems.
