The book is about the disappearance of a young teenage girl from a rural district in Clarendon, Jamaica in the summer of 1985. The story is told by a cousin who developed a special friendship with her and recounts the events of that summer and gives a profile of the community and the family and the events that led to his discovery of the reasons for her disappearance twenty three years later.
