This is the complete score for Joseph Haydn's 1765 work "Cello Concerto No.1 in C Major Hob.VIIb:1". It was dedicated to his lifelong friend Joseph Franz Weigl and was thought to be lost until a copy was discovered in Prague National Museum by musicologist Oldrich Pulkert. Joseph Haydn (1732 - 1809) was a popular and influential Austrian composer during the Classical period. He was an important figure in the development of chamber music, and is often hailed as the "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet" for his significant contributions to musical form. Haydn was Mozart's friend and mentor, as well as Beethoven's teacher. His work also had a significant influence on the development of the sonata form. Classic Music Collection constitutes an extensive library of the most well-known and universally-enjoyed works of classical music ever composed, reproduced from authoritative editions for the enjoyment of musicians and music students the world over.
