De La Salle Prep stood for over forty years in Churchtown and educated more than 8000 boys. Following a directive from Archbishop John Charles McQuaid, the De La Salle Brothers created an educational facility in the area that is still educating young members of the community to this day. A history of the Whitehall Townland is recorded and is followed by a complete history of the Preparatory School that has been researched meticulously using every available resource and memory from those who both worked there and were educated there. The author finishes with a nostalgic look back at his own time there.
