Keeping French Time is the debut novel of Yeovil shortlisted finalist and UEA PhD graduate, Sophia Worden. It reveals the triumph of the female spirit in the aftermath of the First and Second World Wars. Its tells the story of Odette Angele Elise Riviere, born in 1910, in Ver-Sur-Mer, a small village in Normandy where she initially leads an idyllic existence. However, the wars bring change and turmoil for Odette and the other women left at home, whose friendships and relationships comprise the novel's emotional heart. Nevertheless, Odette's love of Ver remains with her, even after she moves to Shrewsbury in 1945. Although she wants a new beginning, she remains haunted by France, by her past and by the tragic events that have shaped her.
