PREFACE: The present volume contains a number of letters and inscriptions of the period of the First Dynasty which have become available for publication since the appearance of the first volume of this work. They include seven letters addressed by Hammurabi to Sin-idinnam; five letters addressed by Sams-iluna, the son of Hammurabi, to various afficals; and an interesting series of thirteen letters written by Abesu to the judges and other high officials of Sippar and Kar-Samas. This early works is a fascinating look at the subject and will appeal greatly to any historian…..
