Computational Nanotechnology: Methods for Microscale and Nanoscale Engineering

Sarith P. Sathian (National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala, India),G. P. Peterson (Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA),C.B. Sobhan (National Institute of Technology, Calicut, Kerala, India)

The book introduces the concepts and methodology of modified and discrete computational approaches to solve problems related to the micro and nanoscale domain. As physical phenomena and properties of materials are affected by the size of the structure at such small sizes, conventional approaches based on the continuum modeling will not be capable of tackling the physical problems. There are various methods of anaysis useful for this purpose, which will be dealt with and explained in the book, with examples.
