Dr. Marc Mitchell was born a city boy in Boston, Massachusetts. In the winter of 1972, he became a full-fledged farm boy when his parents moved to Kingston, New Hampshire. He and his brother Doug became immersed in the everyday chores of reviving and running a modest sixty-five acre horse farm. He graduated from the small rural high school in his new home town and went on to the University of New Hampshire, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree. He culminated his post-graduate education at The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. The book chronicles the adventures, thrills, challenges and heartaches the family experienced. Life on the farm isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. The lessons learned from the animals and people that lived and breathed on the land were the catalyst that transformed a young farm boy into a veterinarian and a man.
