“This Phoenix Still Rises” represents my admiration of the mythological bird in Greek mythology that burned itself to death and rose again as a new creature. Although I am a Christian and baptism represents “becoming a new creature,” the element of the rebirth of the Phoenix represents the multiple times I’ve faced adversity and defeat but rose again via perseverance. This work is a small compilation of my poetry from 1986 to 2008. I consider my poetry style “Straight Bardism” which I self-describe as “brief and straight to the point.” Enjoy my effort, Thank you.
