I have always been rather an optimist and I do believe, as I have discovered during my life time, that when one door closes another will most likely open. Now some 5or 6 years ago, my dear wife had been suggesting that I should make an attempt at writing my own memoirs, because she knew I would certainly have plenty to write about. Also, as our son has already had over a dozen books published so far, you could easily write just this one if you really put you mind to it. Well I finally took her advice, and this is the end result, but sadly she died some four years ago not knowing I had eventually accomplished what she had been suggesting for some time. So, - I wish to dedicate this book to the memory of my dear Jess who gave me so much love and happiness during the 62 years we were married.
