Racine's Andromaque is a play written by the French playwright Jean Racine in 1667. The play is set in ancient Greece and tells the story of Andromaque, the widow of Hector, who is now a captive of the Greek king Pyrrhus. Pyrrhus is in love with Andromaque, but she is still devoted to her dead husband and refuses his advances. Meanwhile, Pyrrhus's fianc?????e Hermione becomes jealous of Andromaque and plots to have her killed. The play explores themes of love, jealousy, honor, and duty, and is considered one of Racine's masterpieces.
