(back cover description) In the beginning months of 2006, I rode a $35 bicycle 3200km around New Zealand. I embarked on this adventure for several reasons: I couldn’t find a full-time job in my field of education, I wanted to experience a place I’d never been and I wanted to see if I could actually do it. The goal was simple: get from Christchurch to Auckland by bicycle. With that goal in mind for 97 days, the obstacles between A and B became less difficult to overcome. It’s easy to make things complicated in life. When I challenged myself to do something very simple, I found that sometimes things are not as complicated as they seem. Or at least they don’t have to be.
