BJ and the Amazing Doctor Directions is the story of a young boy who lives with his widowed father in a small house near a lake. They love the outdoors, and BJ soon finds that the walking stick his father has picked up for him from a very strange man named Plantagenet carries mystical powers to keep him out of trouble. BJ’s new walking stick, called Doctor Directions, guides BJ and his friend Marcy away from danger as long as BJ is smart enough not to cover his eyes in the process (something he discovers after a near disaster). Marcy a smart, funny young lady who lives with her mother is also brave and strong and plays a key role in their adventures together. As they work together to figure out who is cutting down Thoreau Mountain’s beautiful forests BJ and Marcy spend several strange periods behind the door in his basement where they not only find out what is being asked of them to save Thoreau, but meet some rather nasty characters bent on preventing them from succeeding. The evil Sniknej Lac does everything he can to thwart BJ and Marcy from solving the puzzle that can stop the cutting on Thoreau Mountain. Behind the door they also meet the wonderful Sir Gaia, a wise-cracking squirrel named Bonker and a very proper bird named Queen Shelmont all who help BJ and Marcy accomplish their tasks. Come with BJ and Marcy as they take on those that want to destroy Thoreau and watch as they teach the entire town about right and wrong.
