Gun Justice Young Ty Hardin is very good with a gun. While on a cattle drive to Dodge City, herd cutters take three hundred head of Charlie Hills cattle. The next day, Ty foolishly sets off alone to try to recover the cattle. The successful completion of his mission causes Ty to want to use his gun on the side of law and order. Successful stints as town marshal, bounty hunter and town marshal again come to an end when Ty is told he has cancer. Wanting to see the ocean before he dies, Ty quits his job as marshal and sets out for California. Along the way, Ty helps a town with a gang problem, helps a homesteader with a land baron problem, and eventually stops to help a young widow, Mary Brannigan, hold on to her ranch. Ty has strong feelings for Mary, but having cancer causes him to keep his feelings to himself. When talking to a doctor, while being treated after a bad beating, Ty is told he does not have cancer. That opens the door for Mary to sell her ranch, marry Ty and go to California with him, but before all that can happen, Ty is forced into one more gunfight.
