How a boy and a man became lifelong friends through fishing

The curiosity of a young boy and the wisdom of a man met on the Isle of Palms in the early 1980’s. This lead to two families becoming the closest of friends. The relationship of Don and me being at the center of it all, we have gone through experiences in our lives and have all been there for each other. We have lost some, and added some, and through everything we still remain very connected. With many summers and countless letters, Don taught me the rules of the water and how to fish, to respect our natural surroundings, and to pass on wisdom and knowledge to those younger than me. Most of all, he taught me that having a great man in my life as a role model and friend was irreplaceable and his beliefs have become part of my soul. This book describes the early foundation of our lifelong friendship through my reflective eyes when I was fifteen years old.
