His sensual desire and need to control Suzy led to a series of mistakes that left him paralyzed and under the subjugation of Beijing’s ministry. However, through cunning and deceit, he was able to rise to the top of the espionage agency and was able to steal Suzy’s cure for spinal cord injuries. Now he controls everything and everybody. His surveillance skills and equipment allow him to blackmail and manipulate people with ease.
He was the one who arranged for Suzy to return to China. He is the one who will ultimately decide whether or not to unleash the WMD on America. He has several goals. By controlling the President of China, he controls the world. He wants his gold that is still housed in America. He wants Jack dead. But, most of all, he wants Suzy for himself once again.
THE FINAL CUT ends a trilogy. CUTTER, the first book, exposed China’s tools of modern technology to control America through communication, surveillance and industrial embezzlement. Li Jhang terrorized Suzy physically and emotionally. Once he learned that she loved Jack, he tried to kill them both.
CUTTING TIES, the second book, showed a more refined surveillance system that China used to spy on companies, politicians and individuals. It introduced an electromagnetic weapon that paralyzed the country temporarily. Once again, Jack and Suzy were almost killed. But they had no idea it was Li Jhang behind their near demise.
THE FINAL CUT shows us a dark side of nanotechnology. Manipulating atoms and elements has been possible to some extent for thousands of years. Its application has accelerated recently and used for a number of industrial, biologic and military purposes. There has been no national or international regulation of the technology. This is the source of China’s power and maybe the end of life as we know it.
There may only be one way for Suzy and Jack to survive, for America to avoid an electrical winter and for mankind to avoid extinction from the Chongqing Syndrome.
